Dr David McNeill
School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer ScienceDr McNeill has worked on a wide variety of microelectronics and MEMS research. In recent years he has concentrated on sensor design and fabrication. A current project is exploring silicon-based ChemFET technology for biological sensing and a recent US/Ireland project looked at 2-dimensional semiconductors which could offer improved sensitivity. The Nanoscribe instrument in the QAMEC facility allows low-cost nanostructures to be produced and it is hoped to use these for sensor devices.
